A true home should be the container for reviving real hospitality, true culture and conviviality, real fun, solid comfort, and above all, real civilization.

This website is a place to get involved with bringing back a Farmer’s Market to the South Fulham area, of London.  We were previously trading as Parson‘s Green Farmer’s Market, in the Thomas’s Academy, New King’s Road. ( https://goo.gl/maps/dQjHUAvthmYGeNCh8 )

The above is a russet apple, something rarely – if ever seen in modern supermarkets, it is a mascot of the market. Any suggestions for alternative market mascots are warmly welcome. Click on the image for more info.

We have been making plans for a new market still, and will keep you updated here and on social media.

UPDATE: June 2019, and a good deal has happened since i last made an update in the Spring. We approached the market management company ‘Real farmers Markets’, run by a wonderful guy named Alex. Having seen how he run his market in Finchley North London, i can vouch for his enthusiasm for bringing quality producers to his markets, and also for the personal touch, including activities for children, and live music by very talented musicians  each week. https://realfarmers.co.uk/

We also had Ross who runs rmsmarkets, – and has a wonderful market on a Sunday at Bishop’s Park, next to Fulham palace  –  open a new market at South Park, Fulham each Saturday. I had high hopes for this market, being so near our old venue, it was ideally placed for people who came to our old market on the New Kings Road. http://rmsmarkets.co.uk/     Sadly this market has closed for now.

So a few of us are pressing on with our aim, to have a new Farmer’s Market in the Fulham area. We are forming a group,  of local residents, former Parson’s Green market customers, traders, and local businesses, and will create a ‘steering group’, to influence key individuals and organizations to help in our cause.  We will be, a ‘community’ run Farmer’s Market, in the Fulham area.  If you would like to join us, get in touch. contact form and follow us on our social media accounts.

Just letting us know you support our cause, would be a great help.

Below: is what was written the very week the  market closed, last July. I will leave it here for now.

———————————————————————————————

The Current situation:

The last official market, under the management of lfm.org.uk, is Sunday 22nd July/tomorrow.

We seemed to have saved the market from closing.

There was a last minute stumbling block: the school want the reassurance of a water tight contract which covers many areas of health and safety, insurance, rent and site management. Due to time restrictions with the school discussions of these details will not be possible until term commences in September. The school have a number of building works taking place until spring 2019 hence that is looking to be a realistic time scale although we as traders and we hope as customers with your support will be able to complete the paperwork and provide the school with the reassurance that they require.

Right now the areas we need help with are:

Legal contract.
Risk assessment.
Site management plan.
Marketing plan.

If you can help us in these areas,  or in any way, please get in contact via the contact form, or contact: info A-T parsonsgreenmarket D-O-T org , or leave a comment on the forum offers-of-help and also see the forum topic Help Needed

Also, please consider signing the online petition , even if you have already signed the petition at the market.

Thanks from all at Parsons Green Market.
